Sensitize communities on Illicit drugs/ drug abuse in collaboration with Narcotics Control Regulations.
Alliance Creative Community Project provides over 9 prevention programs with over 400 Youth Volunteers in west African communities. Program activities vary, based on the size and needs of each community and the availability of skilled volunteers, but they generally fall into three key areas:
Prevention activitiesaimed at preventing Illicit Drug and other drug abuse problems, include:
- Public awareness campaigns
- Public speaking
- Developing content for schools on illicit drugs and drug abuse
- Educational programs
- Cultural and spiritual events.
Intervention activities aimed at dealing with existing abuse problems at the earliest possible stage, include:
- Recreation activities for youths and adults
- Social programs
- Cultural programs.
Aftercare activities aimed at preventing Illicit Drug and drug abuse problems from reoccurring, include:
- Support groups
- Crisis intervention
- Support visits
- Outreach visits
- Treatment referrals
- Social service referrals
- Medical referrals
